چکیده

We consider nonholonomic mobile manipulators built from an na joint robotic arm and a nonholonomic mobile platform with two independently driven wheels. Actually, there is no efficient kinematic formalism for these systems which are generally characterized by their high number of actuators. So, kinematic modelling is presented with particular emphasis on redundancy. Whereas kinematic redundancy is well known in the holonomic case, it is pointed out that it is necessary to define velocity redundancy in the case of nonholonomic systems. Reduced velocity kinematics based on quasi-velocities are shown to provide an efficient formalism. Two examples of mobile manipulators are presented. Finally, reduced velocity kinematics and velocity redundancy are shown to be adequate tools in order to realize operational task while optimizing criteria such as manipulability.

Analyzing the Wheeled Mobile Manipulators with Considering the Kinematics and Dynamics of the Wheels

We present an open-loop optimal control approach to treat the optimal trajectory planning problem for nonholonomic wheeled mobile robots in the presence of kinematics and dynamics of both wheels and manipulators. This method is based on the Pontryagin's minimum principle that by providing a two point boundary value problem is solved the problem. The specific problem considered is that controlli...

Coordination and partial decoupling in tracking control for wheeled mobile manipulators

We consider tracking control for mobile manipulators built from a wheeled mobile platform and a serial chain robotic arm. Two approaches are presented: the first one is based on global instantaneous kinematics for the whole system whereas the second one follows a decomposition approach that requires trajectory planning for the platform. Since the platform is nonholonomic, different issues have ...

Trajectory Tracking Control for Nonholonomic Mobile Manipulators

In the paper we present new control algorithms for a special class of mobile manipulators, namely for nonholonomic mobile manipulators. A mobile manipulator is defined as a robotic system composed of a mobile platform and a manipulator mounted on the platform equipped with non-deformable wheels. Such a combined system is able to perform manipulation tasks in a much larger workspace than a fixed...

Jacobian Inverse Kinematics Manipulators

We study Jacobian inverse kinematics algorithms for mobile manipulators composed of a nonholonomic mobile platform and a holonomic onboard manipulator. In general, the Jacobian algorithms converge locally, often producing weird end effector and platform trajectories. In the paper we use the existing theory of Newton algorithms in order to improve the quality of convergence of the Jacobian algor...

Truss Assembly : Motion Control

The nonholonomic motion planning problem is considered for a novel class of modular mobile manipulators, where each module is implemented as a planar parallel manipulator with idler wheels. This assembly is actuated by shape changes of its modules, which, under the in uence of the nonholonomic constraints on the wheels, induce a global snake{like motion of the assembly. The kinematics for a 2{ ...
